Will Lea-Francis return to production?
Plans to revive the Lea-Francis name have been around for some time in the form of a high-tech sports car, a limousine, and a carbon fibre bicycle. Click on the "L-F Vehicles" link to the left for more details.

First Meeting of 2005
Peter Baston reports that the attendance for the Club first meeting of 2005 was remarkably good with 23 people in attendance, despite of the weather forecast with warnings of very high winds. Mike Neale took his Hyper which offers little wind resistance and so was unaffected by the conditions, unlike its occupants who were suffering from exposure!

Monday Monthly Meeting Moves
The location of one of the the LFOC members "regular" social meeting has moved from The Peacock to the nearby Chequers Inn at Fingest, a tiny village mainly notable for its fine Saxon church.

Robin Sawers relates that "It was floodlit on Monday when we went and the ancient tower looked quite stunning. The Chequers is opposite the church. It will be particularly good in the summer as the pub opens onto a large garden at the back."

Please click on the "LFOC Events" link and scroll down the page to find details of the meeting and a link with photos of The Chequers Inn and a map.

Early 14hp Saloon Found
Since the launch of the website at the beginning of December, Robin Sawers reports that he has been contacted through the website regarding cars in Bavaria, one of which is the earliest surviving 14 saloon in existence in original condition. Robin states that "This car is not new to us, as it was in the Club in the 70s and early 80s while it was still in Denmark, but we hadn't had any definite news for 20 years."

The car appears here photographed at BMC Motor Classic in Berlin, and is now located in Bavaria under new ownership.

Click on the photograph for more details.
