The UK's Driver And Vehicle Licencing Authority have informed the Lea-Francis Owners' Club and other historic vehicle owners' clubs of the next stage in its programme of vehicle registration policy revisions following the Call for Evidence issued in 2024.
The LFOC was one of many clubs that submitted evidence to this process and we broadly welcome the revised policy. This latest announcement concerns reconstructed classics with particular reference to the acceptance of ‘period typical’ newly-constructed bodies on vehicles with a chassis.
Additionally DVLA will now accept the date of despatch from the ‘mother factory’ as the date of manufacture for vehicles originally supplied in CKD form.

The 2026 Annual Rally is shaping up to be a wonderful weekend, and this year we’re delighted to be heading to a brand-new venue.
Our AGM, club dinner and weekend accommodation will all be based at the charming Middle Aston House, set in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside near Bicester. This elegant country house provides the perfect setting for a relaxed and sociable rally weekend with fellow members.
We will meet for lunch at Great Western Arms pub in Aynho, after which those who have entered will set off on the Scatter Rally.
Our club dinner will once again be a highlight of the weekend and will follow the Club AGM on the Saturday
As in previous years on the Sunday, we will once again gather in the lovely surroundings of Broughton Castle near Banbury, postcode OX15 5EB from around 10:30.
